Appropriate action against Tharoor’s taunt on austerity: Cong

The minister of state for external affair's Shashi Tharoor's ‘Cattle Class’ comment continues to rock the ruling Congress party. It says it will take appropriate action at appropriate time. AIR correspondent reports that even after Mr. Tharoor’s apology for the controversial comment, the party is in no mood to relent.<br/>Congress party spokesman Manish Tiwari said that party is firm on its stand, describing it unacceptable.<br/>In a related development Rajasthan Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gehlot's today reiterated his demand of resignation by Mr. Tharoor.<br/>On the other hand BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad described it a callous and insensitive approach by the minister.<br/>Political observers are keenly watching the developments in the ruling party with their fingers crossed on the continuance of Mr. Tharoor in the council of Ministers. <br/>Dr Singh also downplayed the comments of Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor on austerity, saying it was a joke.
