More than 30 per cent of the apple crop in Uttarakhand has been ruined by the Floods and cloudbursts. State Horticulture Department Director B P Nautiyal said that in monetary terms, the damage to the popular fruit crops has been estimated at between 22-25 crore rupees.Apples are grown in the upper reaches of the hill districts of Nainital, Almora, Pithoragarh, Tehri, Chamoli and Uttarkashi in the state, which have been hit badly by floods and landslides.The state produces about 32,000 tonnes of apples per annum on an average
