In Andhra Pradesh, over 70 per percent votes were cast in the bye-polls to Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly Constituencies. Heavy turn out of voters was reported since polling began at 8' O Clock this morning. Serpentine ques of voters had lined up since 6 in the morning. The polling percentage is expected to go further up as polling extended beyond 5.pm to accommodate voters who had qued up by 5.pm. Polling has been peaceful, State Chief Electoral officer Bhanwarlal told AIR Hyderabad Correspondent that no untoward incident has been reported. For the first time, webcasting of poll process inside the polling centres was done from 1169 sensitive and hyper sensitive polling stations watched by the central Observers, law enforcing authorities and the public from outside. 11,100 central and state police personnel besides mobile parties and striking forces were deployed to ensure peaceful poll in the Sensitive Kadapa Lok Sabha seat.
