In Andhra Pradesh, an eight-member inter-ministerial central team will be touring for three days from today in drought affected areas of the state to assess the crop losses.Headed by Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium, Managing Director Pravesh Sharma, the team will tour in the effected areas in two groups. According to official information, one team will visit Rangareddy and Ananthapur districts and the second in Nalgonda and Mahboobnagar districts.Last month, the state government had sent a report about the huge crop loss due to drought to the centre seeking an assistance of about 3,700 crore rupees. As many as 876 mandals in 22 districts of the state have been declared drought-hit due to insufficient rain and dry spell during last year.
