AP Home Secretary to be produced in CBI court tomorrow

The arrested Principle Home Secretary of Andhra Pradesh B P Acharya will be produced in the CBI court on Wednesday after two-day custody.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested Acharya on Monday in Hyderabad for his alleged involvement in land irregularities relating to a township.

The CBI special court also adjourned the hearing till Wednesday on the bail petition of the IAS officer.

The CBI is likely to file its charge sheet over the two thousand five hundred crore rupees scam in two days following high court directions.

AIR Correspondent reports, B P Acharya has been the fourth person arrested in the alleged land irregularities of Emmar township project ever since the CBI intensified its investigation during the month of August last year.

The CBI named Acharya the first accused in its FIR relating to irregularities in the 535 acre township in Hyderabad that was jointly developed by the State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and Dubai Based Emmar Company.

Acharya was the then Manging Director of the APIIC. The high-end villas and apartments were allotted to politicians, film personalities and industrialists and reportedly under valued benefiting the Dubai based company to a tune of 2500 crore rupees.

Others who arrested include Sunil Reddy, a close aid to the Kadapa Lok Sabha member Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Industrialist Koneru Prasad and Dubia based company official Vijayraghavan.
