In Andhra Pradesh, hectic consultations are underway among leaders over their plan of action on separate Telangana while protests opposing division are being intensified in Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra regions. Some legislators from the regions have also tendered their resignations. Security has been beefed up at several places as incidents of burning of properties and vandalizing statues of national leaders reported from some places. Additional forces have been sent to all the 13 districts of the regions. The hunger strike by students in Visakhapatnam entered the third day today.
Houses of leaders across party lines have been thronged by agitators at several places. Educational institutions and business entities have remained closed while bus transport services have been hit at many places. The agitators held demonstrations over rail tracks at several places delaying several trains.
