Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to reimburse the entire tuition fee for the SC and ST students admitted in private engineering colleges under convenor quota this year beyond the cap of 35 thousand rupees. Eligible students belonged to BC, Economically Backward Classes and Minorities who get below 10 thousand ranks in the Common Entrance Test and also those studied in Government Junior Colleges and Residential Colleges will get complete tuition fee reimbursement. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy announced this at a press conference in Hyderabad last evening. Over two lakh 20 thousand students are getting benefit under the scheme every year.The Government will pay 35 thousand rupees each to other eligible students belonged to BC, EBC, Minorities and physically handicapped who get admission in engineering colleges under the Fee Reimbursement Scheme. The main criteria for getting benefit under scheme is family income should be below one lakh rupees while it is two lakh rupees in case of SC and STs.The tuition fee for present year fixed at 35 thousand rupees in about 630 engineering colleges while it is ranging between 52 thousand to one lakh 5 thousand rupees in 85 colleges.
