Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to prepare a long-term strategy to deal with the seasonal fevers like Dengue. Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad after a high level review meeting, Principal Health Secretary L V Subrahmanyam said that 782 cases of dengue fever have been reported across the State so far. Stating that 14 districts have been affected and 8 persons died due to dengue fever, he said that the most affected districts include Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Karimnagar, Warangal, Adilabad. Expressing confidence that the Dengue fever was expected to disappear completely in another two weeks, he said free blood transfusion facilities that play key role in Dengue fever treatment have been extended to 11 Government hospitals across the state with the help of Red Cross and some medical colleges. The state Government has decided to post only those qualified and trained in Public Health as District Medical and Health Officers now onwards.<br/>
