Andhra Pradesh State Government has postponed indefinitely the contentious exams for recruitment of Sub Inspectors. This follows violent incidents on Osmania University campus last evening demanding postponement of the examinations. State Home minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said in Hyderabad today afternoon the decision has been taken considering the sentiments of Telangana students.She said the examinations will be conducted after peaceful atmosphere prevails in all regions of the state.Meanwhile, Students of Srikrishnadevaraya University in Ananthapur have demanded the Government to conduct the SI examinations as per the schedule. Opposing the Government’s decision to postpone the examinations, the students have launched agitation seeking examinations to be conducted as per schedule in December.On the other hand, hailing the Government’s decision to postpone the examinations, Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) has put off the bandh call given for tomorrow. Osmania University campus was peaceful so far amidst tight security.
