The Andhra Pradesh State Government has constituted a seven-member Group of Ministers to explore various options for conducting elections to local bodies at the earliest. Panchayat Raj Minister and six other senior ministers will examine all related issued including recent judgments passed by the Supreme Court and the State High Court on conducting elections to local bodies. The Group of Ministers will submit its recommendations within two weeks.Our correspondent says the Group of Ministers will also examine the reservations for Backward Classes in the local bodies. The special officers are supervising the local bodies for more than a year with elections not being held even after due date.
