In Andhra Pradesh state Government has begun initiatives to contain spread of swine flu among pregnant women. District health authorities have been directed to make special arrangements to treat the large number of pregnant women who are testing positive for swine flu during the current flu season. Special isolation wards have been set up at many government hospitals in Hyderabad and other districts. From now, pregnant women visiting Government maternity hospitals for their regular antenatal checkups will also be tested for swine flu symptoms. Besides, a medical officer has also been appointed at the office of district Medical and Health officer to help and provide information to swine flu patients.
