Andhra Pradesh government has announced a cash reward of 50 lakh rupees to ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal for bagging a bronze medal in the London Olympics. According to a press release, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy personally congratulated Saina when they travelled by the same flight from New Delhi yesterday afternoon. The state government had also announced a 50 lakh rupee reward to shooter Gagan Narang, who too clinched a bronze medal in the Olympics. The AP government had earlier announced a reward of 50 lakh rupees for Saina following her victory in Indonesian Open, Thailand Open and Swiss Open tournaments. A meeting will soon be convened for distributing the cash incentives, the release added.
