AP enhances incentive for marriage between able and disabled persons

Announcing several benefits to differently-abled persons, Andhra Pradesh Government has enhanced the incentive for a marriage between an able and a disabled person from 10 thousand rupees to 50 thousand rupees with immediate affect. At a high level review meeting held on Thursday, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has decided to extend health insurance benefits to disabled under the Rajiv Arogya Sree Scheme. State Women and Child Development and Disabled Welfare Minister Suneetha Lakshma Reddy told media that the subsidy for the disabled in Economic Support schemes would be enhanced to 30 thousand rupees on par with weaker sections.
