Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has requested Union Power Minister Veerappa Moily to help tide over the power shortage in the state. Mr Moily, who visited Hyderabad on Sunday to attend an annual convocation at NALSAR University, has been urged to consider allocation of 300 Mega Watt unallocated power from Kudankulam Atomic Power Plant and also 500 MW from unallocated share of central generation stations of the Sothern region to meet the present grave power crisis in the state.Chief Minister’s office in a release said an allocation 230 MW from NTPC Jhajjar and 75 MW from the second expansion of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation has also been sought till the end of May next year. Presently, 131 MW power is being allocated from the Jhajjar plant against an allocated 231 MW earlier.
