AP CM condemns violent incidents in parliament & terms them as unfortunate

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy today condemned the violent incidents in parliament and termed them as unfortunate. Talking to reporters in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said that instead of discussing the opposing opinions, the way the Bill was introduced was the most undemocratic way. He also said cabinet ministers coming to the well of the house indicates how the high command bulldozed its way. Referring to the comments by the Prime Minister that his heart is bleeding, Mr Reddy said hearts of crores of people are bleeding due to the bifurcation decision.

Earlier, both the houses of state Legislature adjourned sine die after they passed Appropriation (Vote-on-account) Bill without any discussion. The four-day brief session had witnessed continuous uproar by the members from Telangana region. Our correspondent says that this was the last session in the present assembly as the elections are due along with General elections in the state.

Meanwhile, the normal life was severely hit in 13 districts of Seeamandhra region today due to bandh called by the State Non-Gezetted Officers Association protesting the state bifurcation and tabling the bill in parliament. The opposition TDP and YSR Congress party extended solidarity. State owned Road Transport Corporation Buses went off the road in the region due to which commuters faced severe hardships. Educational institutions, shops and business establishments remained closed. Demonstrations and road blockades marked the day at several places.
