In Andhra Pradesh, amidst unprecedented arrangements, polling has begun a short while ago for Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula Assembly by-election. The Election Commission has appointed a senior IPS officer to each of the seven Assembly segments of Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency to ensure peaceful polling. The state Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal said the Commission has taken all precautions to prevent law and order problems and deployed two to eight armed security personnel at each of the 1512 Polling Stations to ensure free and fare polling. Polling will continue till 5PM. The by-election was necessitated after resignation of sitting members. The Counting of Votes will be held on 13th of this month.
