Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that any individual or group involved in abduction and subsequent killing of Athuan Abonmai will not be spared. <br />''<br />''Shri Biren who also hold the portfolio of State Home Department  briefed the media persons on the progress of investigation in connection to the killing today at a Press Conference held in Imphal.<br />''<br />''It may be mentioned that Shri Athuan Abonmai, former president of Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) was abducted by unidentified gunmen on September 22 from the venue in Tamenglong district where State Chief Minister and some other Minister held a public function. <br />''<br />''A viral video on the abduction circulated later in which many police personnel were seen as mere spectator without intervening the abduction. Later his dead body was found on same day.<br />'' <br />''Speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister said Shri Abonmai was a politician and social worker who always work for cordial relationship with Hills and Valley and also for integrity of Manipur. <br />''<br />''He said that anybody involved whether officials or civil society organization/s will be booked and legal action will be taken against them.<br />'' <br />''The Chief Minister further stated that if there is any involvement of group/s that are under ceasefire agreement with the Govt. of India, then the case will be handed over to the NIA. <br />''<br />''The State Govt. is in communication with the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the incident, he added.<br />'' <br />''Sixteen Police personnel including Officer-in-Charge have been identified for their grave misconduct and dereliction of duty and have been put under suspension. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">A 3 member Committee has been formed to inquire into the incident.</span><br />
