The Supreme Court today said, any adult man or woman is free to marry anyone of their choice and Khap Panchayats cannot question them. <br/><br/>A bench, headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra, also termed as absolutely illegal any attack by khap panchayats or associations against an adult man and woman opting for an inter-caste marriage. <br/><br/>The court asked the Centre to control such attacks saying if the Centre does not act towards banning Khap Panchayats, the court will step in.The court was hearing a petition against Khap panchayats.<br/><br/>
