Anurag Thakur takes over as BCCI president

Anurag Thakur was today unanimously elected BCCI President in the Board's Special General Meeting, SGM in Mumbai. <br/><br/>He replaced Shashank Manohar who stepped down from the position to take up the ICC chief's job. He will hold office till rest of the original term of Mr Manohar which started from 2014 and end in 2017. <br/><br/>41 year old Mr Thakur, who is a BJP MP in Lok Sabha, is the youngest BCCI chief. He had filed his nomination for the post after resigning as BCCI Secretary. <br/><br/>BCCI is currently facing heat from the Supreme Court to implement the Justice RM Lodha Committee's recommendations for sweeping reforms.
