Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has said that sports federations should consult with the government first before deciding to pull out of big global events. Mr Thakur remarks came as Hockey India's has decided to pull out of Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham to ensure greater focus on the Asian Games. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Mr Thakur said, it is the country's team that goes for an event. He said, Hockey India should consult with the government and the sports department before taking any decision.
