Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur's two-day visit to Ganderbal concluded yesterday. On the concluding day, the Minister reviewed developmental scenario of district, interacted with representatives of different Panchayat Raj Institutions including DDCs, BDCs, ULBs, and sports delegations at Mini Secretariat in Ganderbal.<br />''<br />''While reviewing COVID-19 scenario in the district, the Minister said that third wave of COVID could be mitigated, if more awareness is generated among the masses and stressed for vigorous vaccination drive throughout the district. He urged the officers to join the country wide month long "Clean India Mission" starting 1st October during which 75 lakh Kilograms waste would be collected throughout the country.<br />''<br />''While reviewing progress under MGNREGA, the Minister said that works shall be taken as per the priority of the locality and thrust shall be on Rural Connectivity and other works that can generate more working days. The Minister appreciated the District Administration Ganderbal for its achievements in various beneficiary oriented schemes.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Later in the day, the Minister visited Budgam district and e-inaugurated three indoor stadiums of the valley. He said that 200 crore rupees have been allocated for the Development of Sports infrastructure in the Union Territory.</span><br />
