Defence Minister Shri. A.K. Antony will inaugurate the DRDO-Bharathiar University Centre for Life Science Building at Bharathiar University campus in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu Tuesday evening.<br/><br/>Shri Pongalur N Palanisamy, Tamil Nadu Minister for Rural Industries and Animal Husbandary will preside over the function. This Centre has been the outcome of two decades of close interaction between DRDO and Bharathiar University.<br/><br/>The main thrust of the centre at Coimbatore will be on support to Life Sciences research for keeping the country’s soldiers fighting fit under varied operational conditions and extreme and hazardous environment. The building was constructed at a cost of 4.5 crore rupees. <br/>
