Defence Minister A K Antony accompanied by Army Chief General Bikram Singh is on a two-day visit in Srinagar to review security situation in the Valley. Defence Minister and army chief will also interact with troops deployed in the forward locations in the state. Defence minister is accompanied by Union Defence Secretary Shashi Kant Sharma.

Antony is also expected to discuss Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) with the government and army officials during the visit. Antony will also hold interactions with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Governor N N Vohra.
