The Defence Ministry has ordered a CBI probe into the Adarsh Housing Society Scam, involving allotment of flats to three former Service Chiefs and several leaders. It has ordered the Investigation Agency to conduct a detailed probe into the Scam. Defence sources told our Correspondent in New Delhi this morning that CBI has also been asked to fix responsibility for the lapses. Among other things, the Agency has also been asked to look into the circumstances under which No Objection Certificate was issued to the Housing Society though the land was allotted for Army purposes. The CBI has also been asked to find out the extent to which the orders were carried out for the welfare of the Kargil War Widows.
