The A.K. Antony panel set-up by the Congress to probe the party's debacle in the Lok Sabha polls has given a clean chit to Party's Vice President Rahul Gandhi and accused the BJP for manipulating the media.

The four-member panel trashed reports that it had criticised Rahul's leadership.

Mr. Antony told media persons on the sidelines of a function at party headquarters in New Delhi that the reports are absolutely wrong.

He said those who are spreading these rumours want to weaken the party.

Without elaborating he said the reasons for Congress defeat was something else.

He said Rahul and Sonia Gandhi were the only two leaders who extensively campaigned for the party during the polls.

The panel headed by Antony, submitted the report to Sonia Gandhi on Thursday.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that Media was one of the contributory factors for Congress debacle in the Lok Sabha polls. Replying to a media query in New Delhi, he said that the entire focus of the media was towards only one person.

Azad said that whenever he used to have press conferences as a minister even for an hour, not a minute of it was telecast.
