Defence Minister A K Antony today clarified that there has been no intrusion into the Indian territory by China. Replying to clarifications sought by members in the Rajya Sabha on his statement, Mr Antony said in his report, the National Security Advisory Board Chairman Shyam Saran has denied any incident of Chinese intrusion.
Sometimes, the patrolling parties of the two sides come closer at the border creating tensions. However, the matter is being taken up through political, diplomatic and military channels and through special representatives. He said New Delhi wants peace and harmony at the border by amicable settlement of long pending border issues.
The Defence Minister said Beijing had started building infrastructure in border areas and India, which also began of late, is trying to catch up by strengthening its capabilities. Earlier, he made a statement on the issue in the Lok Sabha.
