Defence Minister A K Antony has said media should not only reflect shining India and the countrys achievements, but also portay the harsh realities of life. He said though the country has made rapid strides in various sectors, there are still people living in the country in pitiable conditions. Media should focus on the underpriviliged sections of society and contribute to their upliftment, Defence Minister said.

Mr. Antony was speaking after presenting the K Vijayaraghavan memorial media award to T N Gopakumar, Editor-in Chief of Asianet at a function in Thiruvananthapuram Press Club.

Dr. Sebastian Paul, former M.P delivered a lecture on Media and Credibility.
