Antonio Guterres expresses concern over prospects for implementation of Paris Agreement

UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres has expressed grave concern over the prospects for implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change. <br/><br/>Speaking to reporters at UN headquarters in New York yesterday, he said if greenhouse gas levels continue to rise at their current rate, it will be very difficult to reach targets set by the Paris Agreement in 2020. <br/><br/>Guterres said he will attend the COP23 climate talks next week to seek further efforts from participating countries. The UN conference is underway in Bonn, Germany. UN Chief also said that he will hold a climate summit in 2019 to confirm the unity of the international community in implementing the Paris accord. The summit will be held in conjunction with the UN General Assembly.<br/>
