India beat West Indies by an innings and 92 runs in the first cricket Test in Antigua last night to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series. After putting West Indies to follow-on, India managed to bowl out the hosts for 231 in the second innings. The bowlers were led by R Ashwin, who took 7 for 83, while Amit Mishra, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma picked up a wicket each. For West Indies, Marlon Samuels (50) and Carlos Brathwaite, 51 not out scored half-centuries and Devender Bishoo (45) delayed the India win. The second Test is scheduled to begin from July 30.
