The Chennai Police today warned rumour mongers of action against spreading falsehood on social media over an anti-NEET protest. <br/><br/>A Chennai Police release said people should not believe the rumour that a protest demanding the withdrawal of National Entrance Cum Eligibility Test (NEET) will commence at the Marina from midnight of 3rd September. <br/><br/>Police Commissioner A K Viswanathan has warned that action will be taken against those spreading invitation messages on social media to join anti-NEET protest. <br/>'<br/>The police warning came as Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu witnessed protests and road blockades earlier in the day over the suicide of a 17-year-old Dalit girl Anitha from Ariyalur. <br/><br/>She had allegedly committed suicide after coming to know that Tamil Nadu will not be exempted from the NEET ambit.
