In Jharkhand, the police on Thursday launched an anti-naxal search operation in Gumla district bordering Khunti and Simdega. Police sources told AIR Ranchi Correspondent that the operation is being carried out in Sukudih areas in which police forces of Basia, Palkot and Gumla police stations are taking part. The operation was launched after the police received a tip off that the area commander of PLFI faction of naxals was present in that area along with armed cadres. AIR correspondent reports the PLFI had recently torched a bus in Gumla in which the cleaner of the bus was burnt alive.
