The Centre has made it clear that operation against Naxals will continue till they halt violence and come forward for talks. <br/><br/>The Home Minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram said that the purpose of operations is not to kill anyone but to re-establish civil administration in areas dominated by Naxals. <br/><br/>He said, the Centre and the State forces are acting with great restraint in undertaking operations against the ultras. <br/><br/>The Home Minister was talking to reporters in Kolkata after a review meeting with the leaders and senior officials of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Orissa and Bihar. <br/><br/>Mr. Chidambaram said that in the last two months key Naxal leaders have been apprehended in Bihar, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh. <br/><br/>Expressing confidence that slow and steady progress will be made in operations against Naxals, the Home Minister said, the operation will be a measured, calibrated and carefully-controlled operations. <br/><br/>He informed that developmental issues like schools, roads, drinking water, medical facilities and jobs also came up for discussion during the review meeting. <br/><br/>The meeting chaired by Home Minister P Chidambaram was attended by the Chief Ministers of West Bengal and Orissa Mr. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee and Mr. Navin Pathnaik.<br/><br/>Deputy Chief Ministers of Jharkhand Rabhubar Das and Sudesh Mahato and high-level officials of the Bihar Government also attended the crucial meet alongwith senior security officials.<br/>
