In Jammu & Kashmir, the joint anti militancy operation of Army and J&K Police continued on 2nd consecutive day that was launched late last night in north Kashmir's Rajwar area of Handwara. <br/><br/>The area is around 100 Kms in north of Srinagar headquarters in Kupwara district. An Army trooper died after falling from a ridge in Handwara forest area in north Kashmir's Kupwara district last night.<br/><br/>Police sources told AIR that the army man, identified as Om Veer Singh of 21 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) fell from a ridge in Rajwar forests while returning from the area following brief exchange of gunfire with militants. <br/><br/>No fresh encounter with militants was reported. More reinforcement of forces has been rushed to track down unspecified number of militants hiding in the area.<br/><br/>There was heavy exchange of gunfire between the militants and the security forces in Bowan Watsar forest area of Rajwar that lasted for an hour late last night.
