Reports from Yemen say police have opened fire on anti government protestors in the city Taiz, killing one person and injuring several others. The trouble follows clashes in the city of Hodeida on Monday when dozens of demonstrators were injured. In Syria, Security forces are reported to have forcibly broken up the latest mass protest against the Government of President Bashar Al-Assad. Some 20 thousand demonstrators had occupied the main square in the City of Homs. A report says the violence in Homs began on Sunday when at least eight people were killed in clashes between security personnel and protestors. After funerals for the dead on Monday, protestors occupied the Central Square in Homs, some erected tents with a view to remaining there until their demands were met. The Interior ministry then made a statement that said Syria was facing an armed insurrection and the terrorist activity of Islamist extremists would not be tolerated. The Security forces in Homs then called on people to leave the square. Shortly afterwards they opened fire and used teargas and reports say the Square was cleared.
