Another batch of Indians to reach Delhi late tonight from Libya

Another batch of over 1000 Indian's will reach Delhi later tonight from Tripoli in Libya as the evacuation from strife-torn Libya has been intensified. 1,045 Indian nationals returned home yesterday. An MEA press release says that 1188 nationals evacuated from Benghazi Libya to Alxerendia in Egypt are being flown to India. India AIR Force has sent a mega transport air craft IL-76 to Libya for taking the Evacuees to Cario in Egypt. Another air craft is also ready. Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao said, India has chartered four flights from Egypt Air to start bringing back 1,188 Indians, who have been evacuated by a ship from Libya to the Egyptian Black Sea resort of Alexandria. She said, nearly 33 per cent of the estimated 18,000 Indians will be pulled out of Libya by today. Three daily flights to Tripoli shall continue over the coming days and may even be stepped up further. Private carriers Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines said they will be flying to Djerba in Tunisia and Alexandria in Egypt to bring back Indians following instruction from the government.
