Another close aid of Mafia Don Abu Salem – Hassan Mehndi – has been attacked in a gang war in Mumbai's Arthur Road jail. He was was allegedly attacked by four inmates, the notorious Pandav Putra gang inside the jail premises of the highly fortified prison today. A prison officials said, the victim suffered injuries on his face and hand in the attack with a sharp-edged weapon and treated in the jail hospital. This is the second such incident of gang war in the prison in less than two months.Earlier on July 24, Mustafa Dossa – an accused in the 1993 serial blast cases- and Abdul Qayoom, of another rival gang, had allegedly attacked Abu Salem with a sharp-edged spoon in a cell.
