Annual Shaheedi Jor Mela begins in Fatehgarh Sahib

In Punjab, three-day annual Shaheedi Jor Mela commenced at FatehGarh Sahib today to mark the martyrdom day of the two younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh, who were bricked alive at Sirhind. Over five lakh devotees from all over the country and abroad visit this place during these three days to pay their obeisance at Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib and other Gurdwaras built in the memory of martyrs.<br/> <br/>On December 26, 'nager kirtan' would be taken out from Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib where the historical wall is still there in which younger sons of Guru ji were bricked alive, to Gurdwara Jyoti Swaroop, the place where they were cremated.<br/> <br/>Administration has made elaborate arrangements for pilgrims. Deputy Commissioner Yashvir Mahajan said that liquor vends would remain closed for three days from today and entertainment programmes like dance shows and gambling would not be allowed.<br/><br/><br/><br/>
