Annual Conference of Presiding Officers and Secretaries of Legislative bodies will be inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan tomorrow at Gandhinagar in Gujarat. Briefing media persons at State Assembly secretariat in Gandhinagar, Speaker of Gujarat Assembly Ganpat Sinh Vasava said that Speaker and Deputy Speaker of All State Assemblies and Chairpersons of State Legislative Councils are likely to attend this two day conference. <br/><br/>Mr. Vasava said that apart from Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Deputy Speaker of Loksabha and Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha will also participate in this conference. He said that the conference will deliberate on various issues concerning the parliamentary democracy which include ensuring the attendance of parliamentarians and Members of legislative Assemblies in the house and to improve the quality of discussions in the Parliament and State Legislative assemblies. <br/>Prior to this two day conference, the conference of the secretaries of the State Assemblies began this morning in Gandhinagar. This is the 78th annual Conference, which was started in 1921. Gujarat is hosting this conference for the third time. Earlier this conference was held in Gujarat during the year of 1973 and 1992. All India Radio will broadcast the inaugural ceremony of the conference from 9.55 AM on 22th January 2016.
