In Jammu and Kashmir, the annual Jhiri Mela 2009 organised in the memory of Baba Jitto has begun in village Jhiri. It will conclude on the 7th of this month. This mela is being held every year during the Karthik Purnima and lakhs of people from within and outside the state pay obeisance at the Baba Jitto temple in Shama Chak area.
