Union Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar has said, annual examination would be reintroduced for fifth and eighth standards across the country to ensure standard of education. In a seminar in 'IIT, Madras,' he said a study by his ministry has revealed that most of the Seventh Class students are unable to do Fourth Class simple maths and Fifth class students are not able to read Third class text. <br/><br/>He further said, an amendment bill will be brought in the forthcoming budget session of Parliament, to introduce annual examinations for the classes with a clearly defined learning outcomes. He clarified that those who fail in the examination in March will be allowed to reappear for it in May. He informed that 26 states have expressed their opinion in support of the decision and three have opposed. <br/><br/>Miniter Prakash Javadekar further said, when the Right to Education scheme has been introduced eight years ago, there were 15 lakh untrained teachers in the country. He said, to ensure quality education, it has been decided to remove those teachers who are untrained by March 2019. To provide them the opportunity to complete diploma in education, he said his Ministry has started offering on-line course through the "Swayam" platform and also through television channels. <br/><br/>
