Ankita Das has entered the quarterfinals of the Volkswagen World Junior Table Tennis Championships. In the round of sixteen at Bahrain today, Ankita stunned higher-ranked Hsien-Tzu Cheng of Chinese Taipei 8-11, 15-13, 10-12, 11-8, 11-7, 11-4 in the girls category. The Indian is slated to meet World number 10 Chinese Ruochen Gu in the quarterfinals. On Friday, Ankita caused a major upset when she downed third-seed Romanian Bernadette Szocs 4-3 to make a strong impression at the world meet. In boys' singles, Sourav Saha, Soumyajit Ghosh and Harmeet Desai lost their respective matches.
