Anil Goswami, a 1978-IAS officer on Monday took over as the new Secretary of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment in the ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Mr Goswami replaces KM Acharya, who retired on 30th of last month. An official release says, Mr Goswami will also hold the additional charge of the Department of Disability Affairs in ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment till further orders.

He was Special Secretary (Foreigners) in the ministry of Home Affairs.
