<span style="color: #222222;">The Enforcement Directorate, investigating the two separate money laundering cases against former Maharashtra Ministers Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik has sought time from court to file replies on their applications to be allowed to vote in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. Both Malik and Deshmukh have sought permission to be allowed to vote in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Maharashtra. Court has asked ED to file a reply by tomorrow and has set the next date for hearing on 8th of June. Malik was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on 23rd of February 2022 in a money laundering case and his alleged links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim; while a corruption case was registered against Deshmukh on 21st April last year following allegations levelled by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. Singh had alleged that Deshmukh instructed certain Mumbai Police Officers to collect an amount of 100 crore rupees every month from Mumbai's restaurants and bars.</span><br />
