Women and Child Development minister Smriti Irani said the Anganwadi services scheme is implemented through 7,075 projects and 13.89 lakh operational Anganwadi centres. Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, the minister said as on June 30 last year these centres across the country cover 9.06 crore beneficiaries.<br />''&nbsp;<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The minister informed the House that the government is taking many measures to raise public awareness regarding the benefits of the scheme. Mrs Irani said measures also taken to strengthen nutritional content, delivery, outreach and outcomes with focus on developing practices that nurture health. She said supplementary nutrition is provided under the Anganwadi services scheme in the form of hot cooked meals, morning snack and take home ration.</span><br />
