World number three Andy Murray has anchored Great Britain into their first Davis Cup semi-final in 34 years. In the quarter-final played at the Queen's Club in London yesterday, Murray recorded a superb comeback to beat France's Gilles Simon, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3, 6-0 to give Britain an unassailable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five tie. The Scot's 23rd win from 25 Davis Cup Singles matches also secured Britain's first victory over France since 1978.Britain will now host Australia in the semi-finals in September. Australia defeated Kazakhstan 3-2 in the other quarterfinal courtesy former Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt's win in the decider Singles rubber. The other semi-final will be played between Argentina and Belgium.
