Andhra Pradesh launches ‘Farmers’ Awareness Campaign’

The Andhra Pradesh Government today launched the Farmers’ Awareness Campaign (Raithu Chaithanya Yatra) to create awareness among the farmers across the state. <br/> <br/>Formally launching the campaign at Yacharam village in Ranga Reddy district, Chief Minister K Rosaiah has announced the district as a vegetable Zone. <br/> <br/>Under the new initiative, the state Government has announced a special package of about Rs 19 crore for promoting vegetable cultivation in the district. The 15-day campaign was aimed at creating awareness about the new and modern techniques in Agriculture sector. <br/> <br/>About 1100 teams consisting of officials from Agriculture and 15 allied departments will visit about 50 lakh farming families to resolve their problems at their doorsteps through out the state. <br/><br/>
