Andhra Pradesh is celebrating its formation day today amidst tight security arrangements. Security has been beefed up in Hyderabad and other parts of the state as a section of Telangana supporters are opposing the celebrations and gave a boycott call to press their demand for statehood. Additional forces have been deployed at all important places in Hyderabad as a precaution while prohibitory orders banning public meetings, protests and rallies have been imposed for one week. The SPs and DSPs are monitoring the situation in the districts of the first linguistic state. Meanwhile, Chief Minister has appealed to those who are protesting against formation day celebrations to have patience till the Centre takes a decision on the statehood issue.
