In Andhra Pradesh, police on Sunday obstructed the Bus Yatra taken out by the Telangana Joint Action Committee to Kothagudem Coal fields and taken 16 leaders including its Chairman Prof Kodandaram into custody. Extending solidarity to the Coal Workers who are on strike for statehood demand for the past 27 days, the Telangana JAC has taken out a Bus yatra Sunday afternoon from Hyderabad to Singareni Coal Fields. The police stopped the Yatra at Pembarthi in Warangal District and took the JAC leaders into custody under section 151 of Criminal Procedure Code. Police told the media that the arrested leaders would be shifted to Hyderabad.Meanwhile, several political parties condemned the arrest of the JAC leaders. Terming the arrests undemocratic, Telangana Rastra Samithi President K Chandrasekhara Rao demanded the Government to immediately release the JAC Chairman. Congress leaders from Telangana region also condemned the arrest. Meanwhile, pro-Telangana agitators held rasta roko and protest demonstrations at many places against arrest and shifting of the JAC leaders to Hyderabad.
