The Andhra Pradesh High Court today granted bail to three accused in the cash for bail scam involving Karnataka former Minister Janardhan Reddy. After hearing a bail petition, Justice Samudrala Govindrajulu has granted bail to the suspended judges Pattabhirama Rao and Lakshminarasimha Rao and Somasekhara Reddy, member of Karnatka Assembly and brother of Janardhan Reddy in the bribery case.
The suspended CBI special judge Pattabhirama Rao was the main accused in cash for bail case and on judicial remand since June 19th . The judge did not agree with the ACB’s contention that RamaRao may tamper with the evidence if he was released on bail. The High Court also dismissed an ACB petition challenging grant of bail to Ravichandra and another advocate by a lower court earlier in the case.
In another case, Andhra Pradesh Roads and Buildings Minister D Prasada Rao has appeared before a CBI special court in Hyderabad today in connection with the disproportionate assets case involving Kadapa Lok Sabha Member Jaganmohan Reddy. The Court has adjourned the hearing till 9th of next month. Prasad Rao had submitted his resignation on receiving summons from the Court and the same is pending with the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, the court has extended the judicial remand of Jaganmohan Reddy and other accused in the case till 9th of next month.
