Andhra Govt. announces welfare schemes for police personnel

Andhra Pradesh Government today announced a number of welfare measures including bi-annual medical care for police personnel on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day today. Addressing the Commemoration Parade held in Hyderabad, Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy announced that all the police personnel in the state would be provided the benefit of getting all medical diagnostic tests done free of cost, once in two years under the bi-annual medical care. The Home Minister also announced the sanction of one crore rupees to the Police Welfare Fund. The Minister also assured that Government doctors would be appointed at all the police hospitals in the state. Rich tributes were paid to Police personnel who laid down their lives for the nation. AIR correspondent reports, six police personnel from the state had made supreme sacrifice while discharging their duties in the past one year.
